International Women’s Day: CARAV Reiterates Commitment Towards Protection of Rights of Women, Girls


The Coalition Against Rape and Violence (CARAV) has reiterated its commitment towards the protection of rights of women and girls.


This was contained in its statement titled “Achieving Equal Opportunity in a COVID-19 World” and signed by its Public Relations Officer, Yahya Hussain Ali in commemoration of the International Women’s Day.


“As we celebrate International Women’s Day 2021, CARAV remains committed to the protection of the rights of women and girls.

“To all the women out there, we celebrate you and reaffirm our commitment to fight for your rights, welfare and wellbeing in our society.


“Women are important pillars in our society we must protect them and ensure that survivors of sexual and gender based violence attain justice.


“As we celebrate you all today, we are imploring on every woman and girl who has experienced some sort of sexual abuse to break the silence for the perpetrator to be punished in accordance with the law. The culture of silence will protect perpetrators from being punished and that might put another soul in danger.


“Today we are also calling on the public to stop the stigmatization of rape survivors.


“The Coalition Against Rape and Violence ( CARAV) remains focused in the right Against rape and violence,” the statement read.
