Yobe State Governor, Mai Mala Buni, has reiterated his commitment towards reviving the standard of education in the state.
This was disclosed in a statement released by the SSG, Digital Media and Strategy to the Governor, Issa Sanusi.
The statement reads: “Governor Mai Mala Buni began his term in office with a declaration of ’emergency’ In the education sector. This was aimed at improving the standard of education in the state, boosting enrollment, as well as providing the educational infrastructure that will move Yobe state forward.
“Emphasis was placed on giving the people of Yobe state a better educational foundation; by revamping primary and secondary education across the state. Strategically, the state embarked on the construction of model school in the major towns of the towns of the state; Buni, Yadi, Damaturu, Gusau, Potiskum and Nguru. Each has 30 class rooms computer centers.
“The schools were aimed at discongesting classrooms and encouraging school enrollment. At the end, these schools will also address the number of out-of-school children and ensure that no child is left out of school.”
“Governor Buni’s emphasis on education is already making impact development in allover performance of Yobe state in WAEC and NECO.
“Hundreds of Yobe sons and daughters foreigner have been awarded scholarship; with emphasis on medical and health care and various aspect engineering. This will help in addressing manpower deficits in this critical areas and enforcement youths of Yobe.”
