Police in Katsina state on Wednesday said it has rescued no fewer than 30 victims of human trafficking.
This was contained in a press release signed by the Police Public Relations Officer in the state, SP Gambo Isah.
According to him, “on the 16/3/2021 at about 22:30hrs, based on credible intelligence, DPO Mai’adua and team raided a hideout of human trafficking syndicate at Kwangolom village, a location between the Nigeria and Niger Republic border and succeeded in rescuing thirty victims of human trafficking, consisting of 12 male and 18 female.”
Isah gave the names of the victims as “Ibrahim Adeboye; Isah Ibrahim; Ghana Osueke Chigbo; Fredrick Dayo; Tayo Odeunsi; John Epe;
Emmanuel Isesele; Sunday Wali; Jolly Ighavonge; Henry Chibueke;
Agabi M. Jummai;
Adeyemi Temitope; Temitoye John;
Isah added that the police is making effort to arrest the traffickers.
“Effort is on top gear with a view to arrest the agents and other members of this Human trafficking syndicate. the Investigation ongoing.”
