The Department of State Security Service (DSS) has denied the arrest of media aide to governor Ganduje, Salisu Tanko Yakasai, over his comments on socal media about President Buhari’s govermant and the All Progressive Congress (APC).
Yakasai, popularly called Dawaisu on Friday took to Twitter to react to the abduction of over 300 school girls in Zamfara state. He describes the government as a failure over insecurity.
His whereabouts could not be traced after a series of tweets on social media which lead people to start speculating on how he was being arrested by the SSS.
DSS Director in Kano state, Mr Alhassan said: “We have not arrested or even invited Salihu. Don’t forget he is our friend, sometimes, he advises us on issues of critical security importance in Kano.”
Meanwhile, governor Abdullahi Umar Ganduje has on Saturday sacked Yakasai.
This was contained in a press release signed by the Commissioner for Information in the state, Malam Muhammad Garba.
According to him, Yakasai was relieved of his appointment “over his continued unguarded comments and utterances which are deemed contrary to the stand of the All Progressive Congress (APC) government which he is serving.”
He further stated that “the aide had failed to differentiate between personal opinion and official stand on matters of public concern and therefore cannot be allowed to continue to serve in a government he does not believe.
“The governor also warned political appointees and public servants to guard against making statements capable of drawing superfluous controversy,” he said.
